Frontispiece of author plus 8 photos of disasters and Red Cross ships. Clean text; red boards have good binding, some bleeding along the back edge, some spots on the front boards. Note: book has a separate 2 page newspaper clipping from 1935 which has a photo and obituary on the death of John Barnton Payne, former Secretary of the interior and president of the American Red Cross; one page is slightly darkened due to the clipping. Also included is a page cut from 'The Red Cross Current' 1936, an article entitled "When Colonel Bicknell Was a Newspaper Man' - a full page article plus a photo of Bicknell in his younger days. Book is a recollection, an Intimate personal story during the formative years of the American Red Cross.
